MORTAR
APPLICATIONS

- TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
- MIXES
- MORTAR FACTS
- THE PUMPING ADVANTAGE
- OUR COMMITMENT
- POINTS TO PONDER
For the purpose of this exercise we refer
to all areas of mortar, slurry, fireproofing materials application,
ie: all cement or gypsum based site or premixed products
to be either sprayed, pumped into voids or moulds and/or
applied in strip form for brick or block laying.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
- Cement rendering
- Stucco work
- Texture coating
- Machinery base bedding
- Tunnel lining
- Water tank and reservoir construction
- Low cost housing
- Straw bale housing construction
- Mould filling – blocks, panels, architectural
profiles etc
- Slab jacking – sunken floors, roads etc
- Swimming pool finishing
- Artificial rock, theme parks etc
- Fireproofing
MIXES
- Pre-bagged proprietary mixes from reputable manufacturers
- Site mixing using local raw materials
NOTE: The subject of mixes covers a very
broad area, however we can offer starting point formulations
or a full consultancy service as required.
MORTAR FACTS
- Mortar spraying to consistent thickness is readily
achieved
- Overspray is kept to a bare minimum, and rebound virtually
zero
- Spraying technique easily mastered – typically
a days practice
- All types of fibres including steel may be readily
employed
- Remote pressure monitoring and control to 500 metres
routinely employed
THE PUMPING ADVANTAGE
For best results it is preferable if the
pump employed has the following features:
- Pulsation free output
- Reversible
- Infinitely variable output
- Can pump air
- Can run dry
- All Condor equipment models have the above features
OUR COMMITMENT
- We have been manufacturing mortar applications equipment
since the mid 1970’s
- All design and manufacture done in-house
- Full training available including site training
- Full service and spares support including international
- Design and manufacture of job specific features, functions,
control monitoring etc
- Design and manufacture of factory production plant
turnkey installations
- Design and supply of all product admixtures
POINTS TO PONDER
- Loosely applied hessian over a typical house frame
when sprayed to say a 3mm build thickness goes into tension
resulting in a rigid and very straight surface. Further
coats may then be applied to any thickness according to
the job specification.
- Overspray is no longer a problem. It is quite practical
to spray to within 50mm of window or door opening or ceiling
without overspray or splashing
- For the same mix, the bond of sprayed mortar to the
substrate is far better than hand applied mix, due to
the impact velocity driving the slurry into all fissures
– and no trapped air, debonding or drumminess.
- Rebound or product loss when sprayed is almost zero.
- Build-up is readily controlled thus less need for ruling
off or cutting back thus minimising the need for remixing
droppings – with very significant time saving.
